lol, I understand what you mean and that you played and all, but I just hate how people will cut me down and say that I don't know what I'm talking about because I've never played... Nope, the rules are you have to an old fart before you can trash your team. When you're still in school, its not really liked. I'm kind of kidding but kind of not. When you're in school, it comes off bad, comes off as jealousy, a bit of an "I'm better" attitude. When you're out, its the typical 'back when I was a boy....we had to walk up hills both ways' view.
and you should know, ive never said one word to you about football so you can exclude me from that statement. I dont take you too seriously and I dont think you should take me or others too seriously either. Too many people on here get worked up over silly stuff, its not even worth arguing about. I know sports is important to alot of people, but after youve been around long enough, you come to accept that there is always another game to be played. Players come and go, we can debate anything on here, but we all could stand to be more respectful towards each other.
Unchained said they stunk it up tonight, that was his opinion and kids got onto him about it. He just called it how he saw it, there was no agenda there. If you guys want to be talked about in a positive light, maybe you should work a little harder. And dont tell me you guys are working hard either, half of us are old and fat on here and could roll a ball out on the court and still beat you youngsters by 30 with no practice.
Yeah, I get what you're saying. Mine isn't as much jealousy as it is disappointment and seeing lack of motivation in the team(s) itself/themselves... I can definitely see what you're getting at, though, and I hate to come off in a bad way but that's something that I have a bad habit of doing. I just take it seriously because I love watching it so much... when football season ends it's horribly boring for the rest of the year... and until it starts again.

Well said. We all have a right to express our opinions. I try to respect everybody's right to their opinion, whether I agree with it or not. Lord willing the sun will rise tomorrow. This board, like sports, means nothing in the grand scheme of life. Folks take things way too seriously on here. As for the kids getting onto me, simple: spend less time typing and more time working.
What gets me is I have a feeling Im going to go to a Burton game pretty soon and Im going to see alot of the athleticism from these guys that I saw during football season, yet at the same time, Im going to see alot of garbage out there where guys are shooting with their elbows out, shooting from their hips, no movement to get open yet they run a motion offense, no spacing, and the thing that gets me the most is when a guy posts up and has a defender on his hip in perfect position to seal him to score only to not get the ball after the the guard THINKS about passing it to the post player. Though players are smaller now, its obvious that the reason for the poor play is a lack of fundamentals.
Hell there was a kid from norton 2 years ago that couldnt dribble without looking down at the ball. Hey guys, if you dribble the ball, where is it going to bounce? UP, why do you have to look at it?
Stuff like that baffles me.

I can't shoot worth a crap... never have been able to play basketball well at all.
